Conditional Documents
Previous Chinese Visa
If you’ve had a Chinese visa before, it can significantly support your new visa application. In fact, the Chinese Embassy does not permit two valid visas to exist at the same time. Therefore, if your previous visa is still valid, it must be canceled before a new one can be issued. An exception to this rule applies to crew members, who may hold both a valid Crew Visa and a Tourist Visa simultaneously. For applicants of Asian descendants, providing a photocopy of a previous Chinese visa is especially important. Doing so can greatly simplify the documentation process. Without it, first-time applicants of Asian descendants may be required to submit additional documents—such as a birth certificate, parents’ identification, and proof of immigration status—to verify bloodline and confirm they are not considered Chinese nationals under the Nationality Laws of China.
Previous Passport
If you previously applied for and received a Chinese visa using a different passport, you will be required to provide a photocopy of that passport as well. This is to help the Embassy verify whether there have been any changes to your personal information, such as your name, gender, or date of birth.
U.S Naturalization Certificate
For naturalized U.S. citizens, you may be asked to provide a photocopy of your previous foreign passport along with your U.S. naturalization certificate. This helps verify your identity and confirm the transition between citizenships.
Employer's Vericiation Letter
Applicants working in certain sensitive fields may be required to submit a verification letter from their current employer. If our visa specialist determines that this letter is necessary for your application, we will provide clear guidelines on how to prepare it.
Most recent Chinese residence permit
Applicants who currently hold a valid Chinese residence permit do not need a new visa to enter China. To apply for a new visa, your existing residence permit must either be expired or officially canceled.
Birth Certificate & Parents information
If the applicant is a minor under the age of 18, a birth certificate is required to confirm parental information and determine whether the applicant qualifies for a Chinese Travel Document under China’s Nationality Law. In addition, copies of both parents’ valid passports & IDs must be provided, unless documentation can be shown that one parent has sole legal custody of the minor applicant.
Non-U.S citizens
For applicants who are not U.S. citizens but reside in the U.S., a photocopy of your U.S. green card or valid U.S. residency visa is required.
